Why Refugees Code?
Pure luck, and synchronicity. Our software engineer, May, was looking to help refugees. She felt, as we do, that their treatment in Australia, and globally, has been dismal.
From a refugee activist group, May took on her first student. He was eager, and saw clearly the possibilities.
We at Just the Sizzle and Remember Press, saw a perfect fit for our ethic of give back, big time.
It’s a labour of love to help and support people in need, in a new country. And May gives her time freely, as her student earns money while learning.
We also see it as a huge win/win/win/win – for refugees, for the tech industry, for government, for our country.
What’s not to love?
