Welcome to the father bear of food markets around the world… Aaaaaah! Food markets! Do you love a good food market? My friends tell me I’m like a beagle, and can sniff a food market from 20 kilometers….
Well, they exaggerate, but the first in my series on food markets is a visit to the granddaddy of them all – the Boqueria!
Have you been to Spain? To Barcelona? And missed this world of food wonder?? Then feast on these photos and vow to make that right. Just off the top end of the Ramblas, or the Ramblas de Caneletas, the great big tourist boulevard that pumps day and night, a visit to the Boqueria is a must.
One could spend many happy days working one’s way through the seafood, the patés, the empanadas, or pies, and the fruits and juices! Miracles of colour and display show the food at its glorious best.
With these pictures of just some of the delights, words are superfluous, so I leave you to browse and drink in the delicacies. Local markets take note: these guys are black belts in knowing how to showcase food….

Tell me, fellow foodies, have you any markets that you feel are a must visit? Spread the love… please do!
